a subtle autumnal

In northern California our fall colors are sneaky. They tip toe through October, and then for one weekend in November they have a dance off of color, and then they’re gone. We’re still in the tip toe part of the process, so Monday evening I stopped at the Yolo Wildlife Basin (it’s really called the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area, but I can’t seem to make that stick) to see if all the brown was really brown, of if there was anything else mixed in there. Because, we all know I am sneaky that way.
