weekend plantings and doings

Last week’s news seemed to sap all of my energy, so I tried to be gentle with my expectations this weekend. We watched baseball. Cleaned up the yard and planted. More baseball. Moved a big flower (seriously, it was very big and required two days). Repainted an orange and blue (yes, those two colors can co-exist, though not harmoniously) metal shelf copper (much more successful, because copper is just a shiny version of rust). A little more baseball. Cleaned up my grandmother’s picnic basket. Beer on the patio with our backgate neighbors. Delivered a few gifts from our trip. The last of the winter chard for dinner (we’ve had it almost every night for months). It was exactly what we needed. This 90 degree forecast? Not so much, but I think we can carry on with a full heart now. Good Monday to you.

Wish it was 90 degrees in Maine!

I love your raised bed gardens! We have been having a terrible north wind, which is drying out all of my seedlings! I’m glad you were able to chill out with your garden, baseball and backgate neighbors – sounds like a wonderful weekend.

I love those raised beds too!
