I have no idea if it’s ok to call Chicago “Chi-town” or if it’s like calling San Francisco, Cisco (please don’t). But we’re here, walking and talking with Kate, eating with Brendan (who is in school) and discovering what it’s like to live in a city where spring is but a dream. We did have sunshine yesterday (Kate was giddy) and we went to an amazing Mexican street fair (OMG, the best tacos ever!!!!) and saw tons of public art. And, walking on a bridge behind the Art Insitute, I came face-to-face with one of my favorite authors ever, who has influenced how I think about writing, religion and tight pants (life is too short for them), Anne Lamott (linking here to Bird by Bird and Help, Thanks, Wow: The Three Essential Prayers). I was able to gather myself enough to tell her how much her writing has meant to me, and thank her…and she thanked me. And it was a moment. And her are some others.IMG_3539 IMG_3561 IMG_3602 IMG_3613 IMG_3415 IMG_3428 IMG_3442 IMG_3452 IMG_3527 IMG_3616 IMG_3626

  1. Such great photos in all your Chicago posts. AND running in to Anne Lamott? Wow. Could you send some tacos my way? Thanks.
