This is the end of the graduation posts…the pictures are from my dad. I took three. I don’t know what happened, but it happened without my camera. Real life I guess. There are other wonderful pictures floating around, but everyone is too exhausted to email and I am too exhausted to request. But imagine this….a perfect Thursday evening garden party, with paper airplanes lining the fences, salads for miles followed by pies, cakes and ice cream. Babies, grandparents, and everyone in between. Three grads and all of their friends (and seriously, this is the most amazing group of kids, and they clean up well!) Neighbors, friends, family. Seven year old Calum drawing rainbows and dragons on our arms, everyone playing ping pong, visiting, music…writing in Alex’s book…a heartfelt toast from Steve, acknowledging that we didn’t raise these kids alone…it was everyone here with us who raised them up. That was the first part…then the graduation ceremony itself (yes, I cried)…then Grad Night (a Davis tradition, basically a all night lock in with every activity imaginable…really fantastic)…naps…then Steve took Alex, friends, and accompanying parents to the airport for their red eye to Costa Rica. We handled the weekend parties…Kate and Brendan are still here, and we’re playing ping pong until the evening mosquitos chase us back inside. It was good, very good. And so worth it.
It’s all personalI'm Kim and I have a few blogs (and perhaps an issue with over sharing, and too much time on my hands). My other two projects are www.fiftyfiftyvision.com and www.thisisplanbe.com. I also tweet at https://twitter.com/TheKimTackett and instagram at http://instagram.com/kimtackett. But here, it's all personal. I show up once a week, sometimes less, never more. I don't have a niche or a purpose or a plan. Just a few stories and pictures. Welcome to my personal space.
