So this is what I have been noticing. Lots of old friends have been coming by the new studio. People we have worked with, played with, and shared plenty of drinks with. Far too many of them have only been connected by email and Facebook for the past six years. Pre-recession, when we were all expecting a soft landing into retirement.
I’ve been noticing that a common theme seems to be aging/changing/recession/survival/reinvention. And gray hair. Everyone has more gray hair. In case you were wondering, the graphic design and printing industry is not where one really wants to spend a recession, especially when it’s coupled with technological advances that are careening ahead of all of us.
This morning I was blow drying my gray-ish hair…and I noticed…over my ears…it’s white. I have white hair.
I told Steve in the car…I have white hair.
He is a smart man.
He said, oh, no…it’s still gray-ish.
Still. Yikes. Sigh.
