life is what happens when you aren’t busy blogging…

Big happenings at Casa T+B today. We’re throwing a baby party for our favorite newlyweds/parents-to-be, Chris and Christine. And while it’s really about them, it’s also the christening of our new kitchen. Last night I was making four salads, while Miss Alex was making cupcakes, lemon bars and gingersnap cookie/raspberry sandwiches. Saint Steve was on dishes duty. Oh, and our house is really, really clean. If you’d like to see it, come over in the next ten minutes.

Of course, if there’s a party, there are crafts. We’ll have a wishing tree, DIY baby couture (painting onesies…meet me in the garage, the only room decorated with Christmas lights) and Daddy Diaper Olympics. We’ll wait for that one until the mimosas have been enjoyed a bit.

In other news, I managed to avoid jury duty, and I thought of a good idea at work (we celebrate the small moments). I’m also seriously pondering the bicycle blender idea, as a franchise where I rent them out (see previous post).  And….Toby made his quarterly overnight emergency visit to UC Davis Small Animal Hospital to have the fluid around his heart drained. Again. Third time since May. Sigh.

Though he seemed to sprint out of the hospital Friday morning, he is resting and walking gingerly, making his way down the stairs to visit us every few hours. At this point, he gets to hang wherever he wants. And that smoked turkey bacon on the plate? All his…
