A fine weekend– sunny, a few fine clouds, two patio dinners, laughing with good friends, planning for Grandpa Vince’s 8oth birthday beach trip (but don’t tell him, he thinks he’s only 60), two giggling girls making Sunday morning pancakes, a photo outing to the Islamic Center of Davis and the Davis Cemetery, and hours in front of the TV watching the pomp and formality of our political system.
I totally dug the speeches and debate and vote, and of course, the gavel. (Shout out to my new favorite commentator, Donna Brazil.) I am relieved that I can buy health insurance for Kate until she’s 26, and that as a small business person I may have a better choice in plans. And most of all, I am thrilled to be part of a country that provides access to health care for all. Compassion, what a concept, eh?
