ear this

There was one last birthday event for Miss Alex. She has been waiting to get her ear cartilage pierced for a year. It’s taken four trips to the tattoo parlor (do they even call them that anymore?). She had to be 16, and when she was 16, the piercer had a day off. The place in Sacramento scared us (but we do have a safe word now…tomato soup and/or walrus…the combo if we really are scared). But on Monday, her two good friends, Kelly and Matt, piled into the car for the fourth time to support her. Urban Body was conveniently across the street from the studio. Avi, the piercer, was gentle and kind. It was clean. She is happy. And now she’s making chocolate chip cookies for her friends, who really deserve it. Here, come along for the piercing party…it won’t hurt, I promise.

Congrats Alex! Believe it or not I did this with both my girls in Paris 2 years ago; I was worried, but like your place, Triple Stars Tattoo was very clean and the piercer ended up telling us she was trained in San Francisco! Definitely a lasting souveneir! I don’t know about Alex, but my ear was very tender for 6 months before finally completely healing.
